Welcome...
Springfield Township has received a grant from the Delaware Valley Regional Planning
Commission (DVRPC) for Transportation System
Enhancements and Improvements. The grants monies will be
used for the planning and preliminary engineering design
for the enhancement of the Saxer Avenue
and Brookside Avenue Business Districts. Both areas are adjacent to and are stops on SEPTA's Route 101 Trolley Line.
Each area has significant retail and residential components as well as a high volume of pedestrian,
commuter, school, recreation, retail and business traffic. It is believed that streetscape
improvement, including improvements to vehicular, pedestrian and biking traffic, parking,
lighting, and landscaping, signage, handicap accessibility and mass transit are critical
to the revitalization of these areas. Such improvements will greatly increase both vehicular
and pedestrian safety as well as increased mass transit ridership within the Township.
The Township Commissioners, working with the Steering Committee and professional consultants are developing preliminary plans for the revitalization of the Saxer Avenue and Brookside Avenue Business Districts. Please check this website for updates and upcoming public meetings, which will provide more details on the project for Township residents and business owners.
